I strive to make a personal connection with all my students as I believe it informs how I instruct them. My primary topics are German, linguistics, and ESL. My secondary topics are essay and academic writing, math up through calculus, and philosophy.

I am a MD PhD from Germany who has been living and working in the US now for more than 2.5 yrs. I love teaching students, seeing them improve themselves while learning. Nothing makes teaching more worth it than creating that spark in a students eye, because he/she either really understood something or is just fascinated with the topic and wants to know more.

I am passionate about sharing my love of languages with students of all ages in a patient, encouraging and engaging tutoring approach. I grew up in a bilingual home and studied languages (grammar and literature), linguistics and psychology and completed a post-grad in higher education. I believe that being a good tutor also means being a good listener!

...sometimes try my hand at writing short stories or poetry. I also frequently play musical instruments and listen to music. I play the guitar, mandolin, and trumpet and sometimes the keyboards or bass guitar. My favorite genres to listen to are jazz, progressive rock, folk, classic rock, and classical music. Some of my favorite bands and composers are King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Yes, Sun Ra, Miles Davis, Paul Simon, Led Zeppelin, and many others.
