In my experience helping students struggling with science courses, I have learned that a lot of times constructing the basics about a given topic makes it easier to learn complex topics. I am currently an adjunct professor of chemistry at a small liberal arts college in the Chicago area. Previously, I worked in the chemical industry for several years as a researcher, but I've found that the most satisfying moments have come when I am able to share my expertise with someone else. Similarly, I very much enjoyed the four semesters in the graduate school when I was a teaching assistant. It gave me the opportunity to work with students and help them develop an understanding for the subject. These are the primary reasons that I have decided to go into teaching.I have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Georgia Tech and dual BS degrees in chemical engineering and biochemistry from UW-Madison.

After graduation, I came to the United States and got my Master's degree in Education from Michigan State University. I have three years' teaching experience in public schools in the US and have been successfully tutoring a wide range of age groups and proficiency levels. I am patient, easygoing and flexible. I love teaching authentic Mandarin and share Chinese culture with more people!

I am currently pursuing a degree in Human Biology on a pre-dental path at the University of Toronto. Starting in high school, I began teaching when I became a swim instructor during sophomore year and discovered that I love teaching students. I enjoy seeing my students improve and achieve new goals as I work with them. Moving away from the swimming environment, I started to tutor students for math and science. I quickly realized that I enjoyed teaching in this environment as well, particularly because I enjoy math and science and their relevance to my everyday life. This projected my teaching philosophy by giving students connections to their studies. I believe these connections are the best way to improve your attitude towards learning and understanding of any subject area.In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, playing basketball, and producing music.

I love to help people especially teaching them, as I am conviced we would live in a better world with a higher education level. In my opinion education has a huge effect on the social behaviour of each one of us. More educated people means less crime and more social values. As a tutor with Learning Lodge for the past two years, I have worked with children from families adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic; I have worked as a Teaching Assistant at Best Brains Learning Center, an enrichment program designed to help children aged 3 and above develop academically. While I tutor various subjects, I am especially passionate in teaching students Math, Science, English, and Writing; these have been extremely exciting subjects to teach the future generations eager to learn more. After spending several years tutoring children and taking courses such as Developmental Child Psychology and learning the most effective ways to curate a teaching curriculum targeted toward ensuring children retain knowledge and have fun, I have an increased interest in one day becoming a Pediatric Neurologist or Adolescent & Child Psychiatrist!
