Salt Lake City French Tutoring FAQ

Consider reaching out to Varsity Tutors so we can set you or your student up with Salt Lake City French tutors. Salt Lake City French tutoring can aid school students and working professionals of every skill level. Whether you're new to the French language or you've been speaking it for several years, private lessons can help you reach for your goals.

How can a Salt Lake City French tutor near me help me in improving my fluency?

The French language is spoken in Belgium, France, Canada, and several other countries. Though it's a lovely language, it's a challenging one to learn. Is your student learning French for the first time? Perhaps you want extra assistance in the French language because you want to communicate with overseas business colleagues or you're thinking about traveling abroad. Maybe you just want to better understand foreign films or TV shows. Whatever you or your student want to accomplish, a Salt Lake City French tutor can help along the way.

Salt Lake City French tutors offer many advantages such as one-on-one attention. Even though you or your student can study alone, it's tough to get quick help if you get stuck on something, especially if you're just learning the French language. A schoolteacher can offer assistance outside of class, but they have limited availability. Engaging in private instruction eliminates these obstacles because an academic mentor can provide unlimited focused availability as well as help with anything you have trouble understanding.

Salt Lake City French tutors can aid you in learning about the important aspects of the French language. They can help you with understanding French adjectives and vocabulary. When you take part in personal instruction, your academic needs take priority. Private sessions led by a skilled instructor can assist you in pursuing your objectives.

Your mentor can direct lessons using various methods and learning tools. For instance, if your student is an auditory learner, their instructor can help them try to comprehend gendered nouns by reading content aloud. Perhaps they've been speaking French for some time and want to take their skills to the next level. Their personal educator can conduct lessons entirely in French to immerse them in the language.

A Salt Lake City French tutor can offer assistance with homework. Suppose you need to work a report about French culture and you have no idea how to approach the topic. Your instructor can attempt to inspire some ideas by providing an outline to help you get started. Additionally, an educator can answer questions as they come up in assignments. For example, your student may have to complete a worksheet involving filling in the blanks, and they notice that some of the French terms are similar to English ones. This can lead to a conversation about similarities between the French and English languages, aiding them in learning something new.

Engaging in private lessons allows you to learn at a pace that's comfortable for you. Maybe you struggle with comprehending accent marks and pronunciation. Your academic mentor can go over these concepts with you for as long as you need until things make sense. Perhaps you want to know more than what's covered in class. Your instructor can introduce you to new topics.

It's important to consistently practice French in order to improve and retain fluency, and working with a private teacher can help you do that. One great thing about Salt Lake City French tutoring is that it doesn't have to only take place during the school year. You or your student can spend the summer reviewing French language components.

How can I fit Salt Lake City French tutoring into my schedule?

A great thing about personal lessons is that they offer flexibility. We take your family's schedule and your student's educational requirements into account. Then, we look for someone who's knowledgeable in their field and is available when your student is. Therefore, your student can focus on their studies without sacrificing something important to them.

You have the option of interacting with a Salt Lake City French tutor online or in person. Online sessions take place through our Live Learning Platform. It allows you to work together in a document editor to assist you in improving your French characters, spelling, and more. You can also watch previous sessions outside of meetings to review concepts like common phrases and articles. Taking part in online instruction frees you from having to drive somewhere or catch a bus to study French.

If you want to meet up with a French instructor in person, we can find someone in your area who can help you out. What's wonderful about in-person sessions is that you can pick where they take place. You can engage in them at your private residence, the main branch of the Salt Lake City Public Library, or even at your favorite park.

French Tutoring review by Abraham in Salt Lake City, UT
Telling time on both the 24 hour clock and the 12 hour clock was reviewed as were the days of the week, months of the year and seasons. The tutor then introduced the student to the conjugations of Avoir, Etre and Aller in the present tense. Conversation practice based on a dialogue script was practiced between the tutor and student utilizing the three irregular verbs in the present tense. This was repeated until the student was able to pronounce each word correctly. The lesson then moved to other less common irregular verbs covering their similarities and differences. A list of conjugated verbs was provided to the student. Finally, the tutor explained how numbers are formed up to one billion. The student was then presented with random numbers to speak them out loud, a task that she accomplished very well. The student was given an assignment on the irregular verbs.

This is our last session, so I have come up with some additional vocabulary and phrases that might be useful to the student in France. I also brought a subway map and showed him how to navigate the metro if he decides to use it. I also brought a map of the city of Paris to help guide him on his first day there.

French Tutoring review by Melissa in Salt Lake City, UT
We went over several things today. We started with definite and indefinite articles that went over pretty well. I plan on reviewing negations again with him to make sure that stuck. I also spent a lot of time on present tense and their conjugations. That seemed to make sense. I didn't want to spend too much time on anything other than -er verbs. I'm going to be spending quite a bit of time on verbs per his request. He said the vocabulary I sent him was fine, but the pronunciations were difficult. I'll rectify that for the vocabulary I sent moving forward. We had a very short conversation for a getting to know the type of situation, and he did fine. There were few things that he did not understand, which is encouraging. I think it's going very well!

French Tutoring review by Melissa in Salt Lake City, UT
Today was a great lesson! We worked on grammar, vocabulary and speaking. We started off with 'que' and 'qui' which in French are both connecting words that mean which or who. The student did very well picking up this new grammar topic and was able to use it quickly in speech. We then worked on expanding her vocabulary with words and adjectives related to movies/ film. She enjoyed learning these words as many are close to their English translation and some were close to their Spanish counterparts in her new class. We then watched a short film that won an award in France. We used this as our topic of conversation and spent the rest of our time talking and discussing the film.
