French Tutoring review by Roshan in Memphis, TN
We did a review of the student's last exam, that she did fairly well on. She made a few mistakes, but she has a clear understanding of how to apply the grammar rules. She worked on her upcoming homework and also practiced on her speaking skills.

During today's session we reviewed the words that we learned yesterday, as well as in prior sessions. We also moved on to the summer season and the student drew a picture of what summer looks like. Then we learned some of the things she drew such as sand, sun, beach and other summer related words in French. She is a pleasure to work with and is progressing well.

Great sessions today. Everybody is involved and seems to be following well. We worked on pronunciation, accents, and syllables. We added greetings that we will be practicing at every beginning of the class. I asked them to go over the vocabulary from the book.

We began the session by practicing slow conversation for almost a half hour based on the diary work that the student did over the week. We then discussed cultural issues, such as dressing habits. We closed the session by reading further in the play (Feydeau, Le Dindon).

French Tutoring review by Dana in Memphis, TN
We had a full and productive session. We began with direct quizzing on the chapter's vocabulary, then worked through both vocabulary and the chapter's mechanics through a variety of exercises I had prepared. We looked at verbs in -ger, where the nous-form requires an extra e, and also at the present tense of the verb aller, since it has been introduced in its infinitive form. Finally, we previewed the beginnings of chapter 3 -- vocabulary, adjective agreement, and the present tense of the verb etre. The student worked diligently at these exercises, and I know that we filled in a few gaps in his recall of vocabulary.

French Tutoring review by Danielle in Memphis, TN
Both students had several homework assignments to complete, so they spent the session working on those problems. The first assignment required the girls to create sentences using given vocabulary words. They did very well creating complex sentences and only had a few questions about sentence syntax. The second assignment required sentence construction using conjunction words and phrases. We talked about the difference between 'passe compose' and l'imperatif' in relation to their sentences.
