Reach out to Varsity Tutors if you have been searching for Denver Praxis prep. If you have to take the Praxis test, you could benefit from reviewing what you learned at the University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, or another university. You can either take a Praxis prep course or get private tutoring.
What topics can I learn about during my Denver Praxis preparation?
Praxis tests measure the subject-specific knowledge you will need for teaching. The Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators exams measure academic skills in reading, writing, and math. You can take the Reading, Writing, and Math tests as one test, or you can take them as separate tests on different days. The Core tests are computerized, and there are no penalties for incorrect answers.
Praxis Subject Assessments measure your knowledge of specific subjects that you will teach. Subject Assessment tests include Principles of Learning and Teaching tests, which measure your general pedagogical knowledge at one of four grade-level ranges. Subject Assessment tests are between one and four hours long. These tests include both selected-response and constructed-response (essay) questions. They are also computerized, except for the Braille Proficiency exam.
What kind of Denver Praxis prep can I get?
There are two ways you can prepare for the Praxis exams in Denver. One way is to sign up for a Denver Praxis prep class. The other way is to get private tutoring from an educated instructor.
One of the benefits of taking a Praxis prep class is being able to get a comprehensive review of the information you will need to know for the test. You can ask your teacher questions, and they can also present questions to the class to spark a discussion. Participating in class discussions and answering questions posed by other students can help keep your interest levels in your studies high. Studying alone, however, can get monotonous and boring, and it can be easy to procrastinate. Enrolling in a class that takes place at a set time can help you overcome procrastination.
Teachers can assess the knowledge levels of students and go over a topic again if the class did not understand it. They can also recommend individual students to get private time with them after class to review a concept. Our classes take place over the internet, in our virtual classrooms. You will be able to see, hear, and interact with your instructor as if you were in the same room together.
Another option is studying with a private educational mentor. A Denver Praxis tutor can study with you at your own pace. They can take their time to answer your questions and clarify concepts that you are having difficulty understanding.
A private mentor can work with you to help you take more responsibility for your studies. They can help you develop a study plan to follow when reviewing your studies in your free time. They can recommend books and resources for you to take out of your local library to aid in your studies.
Your private instructor can also help you improve your test-taking skills. Each Praxis test has a time limit, so it is important to be able to pace yourself when answering questions on a deadline. Your mentor can administer practice tests to help you get used to that. They can also give you advice on how to avoid wasting too much time on a single question. Since there are no penalties for incorrect answers on Praxis tests, you might be better off taking your best guess and moving on. You can always come back if you have extra time in the end.
You can study with your private mentor over the internet. Using our Live Learning Platform, you will be able to interact with your instructor as if you were in the same room together. You can use our video chat and virtual whiteboard tools to enhance your studies. You can also request to meet with your instructor in person.
How can I get started with Denver Praxis prep?
Whether you want to take a Denver Praxis prep course or you would prefer to meet with a private tutor one-on-one, Varsity Tutors can help. Our educational consultants can work with you to help you find the right class or connect you with a private mentor. New classes start each month, so you will not have to wait long. There are also classes for every schedule, whether you have free time during the day, in the evenings, or on the weekends.
