About Me

My experience with tutoring stems back to my high schools days, where I would work in the language lab to help my peers increase their proficiency with Spanish and French. After graduating from high school with my IB diploma, I attended New York University, where I majored in Politics and Spanish. I then attended Loyola Marymount University where I received my master's degree in Urban Education. I have worked in education for the past 6 years, beginning as a 2012 Teach For America corps member in Los Angeles. I have taught nearly every subject in middle school classrooms, and I have taught both biology and algebra to high schoolers. My favorite subjects to tutor are mathematics and Spanish, as I find them to be the most engaging, but I enjoy and can help with nearly all content areas. When I was in school, I was (and still am!) a self-described "nerd" who really enjoyed expanding my knowledge base and taking on academic challenges. I hope to impart the idea that tackling new concepts can be fun and rewarding at the same time. Additionally, as a generally "good test taker," I enjoy helping students hone their test taking skills to achieve optimal results. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy running, listening to music, a game of tennis, or a good TV-binge session.
