Small goals and recognition of accomplishments are a useful to maintaining motivation. How can you help a student become an independent learner? Learning is rarely independent. We rely on books, teachers, tutors, and the Internet. I believe that the goal is to become a resourceful learner. When a student knows how to seek information, he or she will feel independent and empowered.
