I am a graduate of Dordt University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with endorsements in special education, middle school math and science, and coaching. Directly out of college, I acquired a unique opportunity to be a special education teacher for high school students in detention. At this first position, I worked to aid students with behavioral, mental, and educational struggles overcome these barriers. I have also worked as a reading therapist where I specialize in reading, writing, language skills, and comprehension therapies. These are the areas I am most passionate about because I have experienced the success of many students overcoming their struggles in these areas. I love the creativity, variety of information, and new skills developed through these subjects that greatly enhance understanding and overall ability to learn. I am excited to come alongside you in your learning journey in an array of topics! I believe learning, while at times challenging, can be fun. It is my personal belief that all students have the ability to achieve their goals and overcome learning barriers in the process. It is my hope that we can work together to accomplish your current goals on top of setting, and achieving even more goals in your learning journey.
