I am a graduate of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri with a bachelor's degree in English education. I have enjoyed teaching reading, literature, writing, and grammar at all the secondary levels grades 7-12. I particularly enjoy sharing stories and books with students and prompting them to discover how characters handle the various situations which befall them. After seven years in the language and reading classroom I added a credential to teach Spanish grades K-12. Learning and teaching Spanish was exciting for me because I traveled to Saltillo, a city in northern Mexico, to increase my exposure to native speakers and to experience another culture. I have eight years experience teaching Spanish to secondary students and 5 years teaching Spanish on line. Outside of teaching, I like to attend services of the Church with my family, do water aerobics, get together with friends, cook and run errands with my husband.
