About Me

I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maine in 2012, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in K-12 Music Education. In my professional career I have experience teaching all ages in public school as well as Pre-K aged students. The subjects I tutor are Elementary Reading, Earth Science, Elementary Math, English, Essay Writing, Grammar and Mechanics, Middle School Math, SSAT Prep, Music, Music Theory, Clarinet, Voice, and Phonics. My favorite subjects to tutor are reading and writing, but I thoroughly enjoy the teaching process regardless of the subjects I am teaching. My teaching philosophy is based around creativity. I strongly believe that no two students learn the same way, so no two students should be taught the same way. I work hard to identify problem areas, and create ways to work with them and help resolve the problem. Outside of tutoring, my hobbies include hiking, reading, music, singing, with a focus on a capella, and watching movies.
