In the pre-Algebra workbook, we worked on percentages of numbers, exponents and variables, and then graphic. The student went through 4 pages of worksheets.

We covered a couple of sections on slope and transformation of graphs. The student just took his first test and felt confident that he did well. We always have an excellent tutoring session when we work together. I believe that he enjoys math and tries very hard to be a better math student. He is doing great.

This session was split into two parts and we met both Monday and Tuesday. We covered the topics of area and volumes of 3D shapes.
This was a pretty smooth session, like always. I made the student review the formulas for each topic until he could repeat them back to me. I tested his knowledge of their use by giving him sample problems of increasing difficulty.

We worked on fractions (grouping parts of a whole), grammar (identifying verbs and verb phrases) and spelling. We did a few extra problems towards the end of the hour. The student worked very hard the entire session and I was so impressed with how quickly he understood the concepts I was explaining.

With finals coming soon, the student and I focused on some of the more difficult topics from the last semester. He seems to have a good grasp of all the topics and his confidence has really improved greatly.
