I'm excited to be tutoring again.

I am a hands-on mentor who engages students and challenges each one under my care to look inward to test their creative abilities and discover their inner voice. Engaged teaching is a team effort with each member creating a nurturing, yet challenging atmosphere. I will stimulate the artist-student to broaden their scope and I am particularly interested in opening new horizons for those with whom I will engage.

I am a current student at the University of Vermont. I am completing two Bachelors in Linguistics and Japanese, and am a researcher for both departments. From high school to the present day I have tutored people my age and younger, and I have experience working with refugee/ELL students; I have collected 2 years of experience. I am passionate about the subject, they may feel that they can tap into that passion. Second, I like to engage the student personally. Education can sometimes feel transactional or even coercive. I want my student to feel that I am working for their benefit, and because I care about them, not because I'm getting paid.

I am passionate about helping students because I love watching them have that "light bulb" moment. I also believe that a student who does not like school can begin to like school if they get the proper help and guidance in subjects. I have worked with K-3 students and 5th graders.
