How much does Varsity Tutors cost for students in Strongsville?

The amount you will pay for tutoring for students in Strongsville will depend on a variety of factors. How knowledgeable and experienced your tutor is can factor into the cost.

The amount of assistance needed can also play a role. Tutoring review by Catherine in Strongsville, OH
We covered limits, concavity, inflection points, and algebraic manipulation techniques that the student needed to review for her upcoming exam. The student has a very positive attitude toward the material and it is a pleasure working with her.

Tutoring review by Peter in Strongsville, OH
We worked on Chapter 7 review, which covered quadrilaterals. The student struggled a bit with finding the values of angles and sides when they are give as linear expression such as (3x-6), (4t-5) degrees. I helped him to understand the paradigms for finding the values. We then reviewed the properties of the various types of quadrilaterals such as kite, square, rhombus, rectangle, trapezoid, and parallelogram and how to use the properties to find missing values of angles and measurement of segments.

Tutoring review by Ben in Strongsville, OH
The student has done well at picking up one particular new property, which is that the sum of an angle's remote two interior angles of a triangle is equal to that angle's supplement. We've used this as a tool, along with paying attention to sums of angles in general, to supplement her prior knowledge of vertical/alternate interior/right angles so that she can use increasingly fewer pieces of data to correctly determine the measurement of angles in a diagram. She seems well prepared for Monday's test; as always, I'm encouraging her to be thorough and to organize her work if she wants to bring her grade in the class up.

Tutoring review by Dawn in Strongsville, OH
We reviewed for the student's upcoming quiz. Her quiz is on optimization, local linearization and related rates. We completed review problems from the end of the chapter. We reviewed the steps involved for each. For optimization she needs to focus on once finding the equation which needs to minimized or maximized to make sure it is in terms of one variable. If not, another equation is needed. As with most students, she needs to make sure the algebra steps in solving for f'=0 are correct (small errors can be critical). She understood related rates very well - only needed help for a cone (setting up the ratio). For local linearization she needs to make sure the formula is memorized.

Tutoring review by Danil in Strongsville, OH
As the student is struggling most with basic reading and writing, we began with an examination of his reading comprehension skills by short reading passages from a novel geared to his reading level and writing responses to various aspects of the text. He seemed to have an especially difficult time understanding contractions, so we went over the most common contractions and their expanded forms in detail. He seemed very enthusiastic about the novel we used for the reading, so I left the book with him and tasked him with going through the next couple of chapters over the week, keeping track of his thoughts and reflections on the reading.
