The student and I went over his homework assignment. He was recently introduced to tangents in his class, so we spent some time discussing how tangents work. Then we moved on to work with similar triangles a little bit and ended up hitting a checkpoint in his homework assignment that covered review material. We spent the remaining time discussing previous topics.

We covered basic organic chemistry concepts and reactions ahead of student's test on Tuesday. Some concepts had not yet been raised in class, but will be covered this week. Concepts covered included polymerization, identification of the polymer formed from subunits, identification of the basic repeating subunit in a polymer, identification of nucleophilic and electrophilic groups, Sn1 and Sn2 reactions, electrophilic additions, and electrophilic substitutions. The student grasped concepts quickly and well. She appears to be developing a firm understanding of the basic concepts of organic chemistry and seems likely perform well on her examination on Tuesday. We will go over more practice problems next time.
