The student continued with his homework assignments for this week. His problems today dealt with some group work related to sampling distributions and proportion problems with z-scores. He seems to be getting it after a little bit of review and repetition. He also wanted to meet again on Friday, so we'll be continuing at that time.

In this session, the student worked through English tests in his ACT prep book while being timed. In terms of English, he did extremely well, and I am really not concerned too much with this section of the test. We focused on math in the second half of our session, and he seemed to struggle with getting the problems finished within a certain time limit. I hope to improve on this in the next couple weeks and I encourage him to keep working in his book outside of our sessions

The student just started a unit on Law of Sines and Cosines. She had partial class notes for Law of Sines and a homework packet on that topic. We went over some of the notes, and she worked through several problems. She wants to focus on setting up problems, so we stepped through setting up many problems in the packet.

The student got a 95% on his Module 2 test. Today, we completed his participation assignment for module 2 and started module 3, which covers exponential functions and logarithms. He created his module 3 study plan and the assessments for sections 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3, covering basic modeling with exponential and logarithmic functions.

Today we reviewed 6.1-6.3 for the student's quiz. Topics included finding antiderivatives using formulas, using limit sum and checking answers using limit integration.

The student has a math test tomorrow so we spent the whole session preparing. We went through all of the Chapter 3 concepts, and then did all of the problems in the "closure" at the end of the chapter. He has definitely gotten more confident with his negative numbers, and decimals. He also finished his homework for the week, and we reviewed some of the topics he struggled with on the last test (histograms, Venn diagrams, etc.). He worked really hard.
