We covered bounds of Taylor approximation; finding intervals of convergence and more from Taylor series. The student is doing very well. His father sent me his current grade and he is doing much better.

We worked on a really interesting writing assignment involving stereotypes in the media and how these portrayals impact people. We used a graphic organizer to write a first draft which really helps to keep his thoughts organized on track. We also discussed certain phrases and why they might not be as clear as other word choices. I also introduced some new vocabulary and we utilized some of it in his writing. He did an excellent job!

Today, we reviewed the 2 practice math sections I had assigned for homework, in terms of figuring out what he made mistakes on and what he could improve on. Tutoring review by Piper in Colonie, NY
The student has a test this week. We went over her review material during the session. She knows the material, but she needs to slow down when working through the problems. I showed her some shortcuts to use when she takes her test to remember how to properly use her protractor. She should be prepared for the test; however, it is up to her to make sure that she is going through each step logically and carefully instead of skipping steps so that she makes sure she is getting the right answer.

Tutoring review by Thien--Gia in Colonie, NY
Today was a day where we are starting to prep for the student's next test that's going to be coming up next week. From what he told me, the test is going to be over adding and subtracting decimals, which we covered a long time ago. We reviewed it, and he did great as usual, and is confident in his abilities and so am I! We have already moved on to multiplying and dividing decimals, so he should be well prepared and a couple steps ahead of his class.
