Tutoring review by Justin in Clarence, NY
The student and I prepared for her math test on Monday, which covers simplifying rational questions, inverse functions, and graphing equations with translations and transformations. It appeared that she struggled a little bit with simplifying rational equations that dealt with a cubic root. We worked through a few problems, and she seemed to grasp how to approach the problem but was still going to continue to practice these problems before her test. Another area with a little struggle was how to simplify an equation once it had a negative power. We worked through those too, and she understood how to carry out those problems once she arrived at that step. She was left with more of the practice test that she'll continue to look over before her test.

The student and I reviewed for her test on polynomials. We went over each section of the chapter and did problems on each section. She understood the material and felt very good about her test.

Tutoring review by Albina in Clarence, NY
The student tells me she hasn't covered quadratic equations in class yet, which is something she and I covered a week ago. She has a test tomorrow on graphing quadratics, vertex, axis of symmetry, and solving by completing the square. We did a great deal of practice today, and I feel she is prepared for the quiz. I expect to review the quadratic formula and the next topic on Sunday.

Tutoring review by Kyaw in Clarence, NY
In this session, I helped the student with his comprehensive math practice test. He worked on problems on his own first and then I reviewed each of them. He struggled most with recalling how to do many of them problems despite familiarity, so I went over each problem and explained the key concepts needed to solve and get the correct answer while he took notes. He gained a better understanding of those problems as well as concepts involved at the end of our session in order to be able to do them on an actual test. Our session went well and was productive.

Tutoring review by Melvin in Clarence, NY
During this session, we went over vectors and finding their resultants. This session went well. There weren't any major issues I saw. The student knows how to do the math. I think his initial problem was that he wasn't properly visualizing what the problem was asking. I encouraged him to draw pictures to get a better idea. Once we did one problem, he was able to get through the rest with ease. I recommended that he work on some practice problems on his own. I think he benefited from this session; he seems like a really bright kid. With more practice, his confidence will build up for sure.

Tutoring review by Nick in Clarence, NY
During today's session the student showed a lot of improvement with solving algebraic equations. He has begun to slow down and take his time. I have also required that he try to check his answer before asking me if it is correct or not.
