Tutoring review by Tere in Ballston Spa, NY
I discussed our progress and the student's strengths and challenges in detail after this session with his mother. We reviewed his homework, which consisted of long division with remainders and interpreting the remainders to find the appropriate answer. He is very capable and feels confident with long division. What he still needs to work on is memorizing his multiplication facts. Starting next session, we are going to spend a minimum of 5 minutes practicing flashcards. I also suggested he do this every day even when we do not meet in order to be successful.

Tutoring review by Daniel in Ballston Spa, NY
In this session, we worked on positive and negative numbers, order of operations, reducing fractions, and powers of 10. The student struggled with adding and subtracting negative numbers at first but then got the concept towards the end. I think he needs reinforcement. He seems to have an understanding of powers of 10 but again needs more practice.

We worked on several examples, then I introduced the student to adding and subtracting fractions as well as LCD, which is the same as Greatest Common Multiple. We worked on several examples of these as well.
