...confidence and knowledge. The most rewarding part of tutoring a student is when I see their eyes light up and they understand the concept they have been struggling with. Throughout my tutoring and teaching experiences I have learned various ways to keep my students engaged and excited about learning. I have experience with Common Core and Singapore Math. Outside of teaching, I enjoy staying active by attending boot camps, running, and reading.... If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, I take a step back. I like to build the foundation of knowledge before adding more skills and concepts onto a shaky foundation.

Eleven years of classroom teaching and several years of tutoring has shown me that learning has so much to do with confidence. Let's build your confidence while we build your skills so that tomorrow will become easier than today! ... My plans for the first session would be to complete a "getting to know you activity" with the student and complete assessments with the student. I would also like to see any assessments the school may have done as well as some examples of classwork and homework.
