Hi. I'm a Senior Math Education major at OU and I'm tutoring to make some extra money and help out. I made a 32 on the ACT and took a lot of AP classes in high school, so I believe I'm decently qualified.

My main objective is to assist students who may need additional assistance with their studies, and to provide that extra support outside the classroom.

Tutoring is fulfilling to me because I enjoy helping others grow in their knowledge, especially in areas where I feel I can truly contribute to their understanding and help them find their way! Through my own education as well as professional experience in information security for the past 25 years, I am able to help in multiple areas.

I'm a follower of Christ and a big fan of patterns and statistics. I enjoy making order out of chaos and seeing how mathematics helps us make sense of the world.

Why do I tutor? I take great joy in equipping students to discover and harness their own potential, and I believe in the power of proactive learning for academic success. I believe that YOU have what it takes to succeed, even if you haven't discovered that yet! My goal in tutoring is to equip you with the knowledge, mindset, strategies and resources you need to reach your goals.

I have been teaching 18- to 22-year-old students at the college level since 1995. I love imparting to them my own passion for the English language and its literary heritage, from Chaucer through our best 21st-century writers. I am particularly absorbed by the history of fiction, drama, and poetry in English, and I hope to continue to teach such love of the written word to curious students today.

I believe that tutoring is not only about the transfer of knowledge between the tutor and the student, but also a transfer of skills, which would help the student learn how to find the answer himself or herself and to solve whatever academic problems come his or her way. Equally, important is demonstrating the real-world application of what a student is doing.

...math minor. I have been tutoring for more than 6 years. For 2.5 years, I taught math to Cornell Engineering undergraduates, and I looked forward to it every week! On Varsity Tutors, I tutor up to college level mathematics and physics, test prep (including AP courses, and SAT reading/writing). Explaining difficult math and science concepts in plain English is my forte. I love teaching and will be glad to help anyone become an independent learner.
