Although I spend my days teaching in a classroom, I love moonlighting at a tutor because of the individualized attention that my students receive. I bring several years of classroom experience to the table, as well as a teaching credential from the University of Oxford and a BA from Northwestern University. While my classroom experience is in English/reading and history, my tutoring experience has been in everything from math to foreign languages.

I was brought up in Vancouver, Canada. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell & Molecular Biology from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Science in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine from the University of British Columbia. After working in research labs in Canada and the United States, I was inspired to pursue Medicine. Recently, I completed a 2 year Post-Baccalaureate program at the University of Texas at Dallas, as a pre-requisite for entry into medical school.Throughout my undergraduate and graduate education, I have had the privilege of tutoring students of various grade levels. My tutoring strength lies in being able to adjust my tutoring style to a student's learning style. Some students may require written notes, while others may prefer conceptual teaching. Certain students require additional homework and assignments while others might be self-motivated. As someone who has tutored for about 3 years, I am proficient in teaching Math and Science to elementary, high school, and college students.

I have a passion for helping people and seeing them learn. I am a student at TCU getting a BS in actuarial science with a minor in economics. I am also a student athlete on the equestrian team. When I'm not studying or playing my sport, I enjoy going on runs with my dog, watching netflex, and trying new food trucks.

I was a bilingual elementary teacher for 20 years, where I taught grades kindergarten through 5th grade. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I specialized in working with struggling readers and teaching English as a second language in grades kinder through second grade. In my experience, I found it best to instruct in a variety of ways to help each child engage in their learning and meet them at their level. I have a passion for helping struggling children by providing effective, consistent instruction in literacy so they can succeed.I graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I also received a Master in Reading from Regis University in Denver, CO.In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, gardening, and traveling to new places in the US.

I am a Qualified General Medical Practitioner with a wealth of experience of over three decades . I am endowed with rich skills and experience, not only in medical practice but also as I have interpersonal and relational skills when interacting with other people. I have deep passion for teaching as a way of giving back to the society what I had previously gained from the society.Overtime, I have come to realize that tutoring is a skill, while learning is a process.There are no 2 students alike, each has a different rate of assimilation and different ways of comprehension. Therefore it is the duty of a teacher or tutor to create a meeting ground with style and method tailored to the students needs.My deep understanding and firm foundation in Biology has really helped me to understand that the Body is a complex organism of cells, tissues and organs.Anatomy on the other hand describes how the complex structure is physically put together while Physiology explains how the components of the human organism work both individually and collectively to maintain life.My knowledge of Pathology and Medicine experience show what human components can be in disease conditions. I had supervised medical students in practical classes in clinical pathology and Hematology. With these knowledge, tutoring comes naturally to me especially when common ground is discovered.

I love math, economics, and finance! I just graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Economics. All throughout college, I have worked with students of all ages and levels! I do not start my full time job as an Actuary until the winter, and want to continue my passion for tutoring this summer and fall, and even when I begin work because I LOVE sharing my passion for math and helping others learn! Some other fun math facts about me - I scored a perfect 800/800 on the math portion of the SAT, I've passed three SOA actuarial exams, and I was the first undergraduate to work the TCU math tutoring center!
