Prior to Varsity Tutors, I have experience with teaching nutrition classes and I also taught health education classes. My preliminary Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communications would open the door to job positions with Walt Disney World that ultimately led me to continue my education in China. For me to pursue my international passion to travel I received a Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) certificate from Oxford Seminars. Teaching English in China would also be accompanied by an additional online course from Columbia University Teachers College. These online modules were specifically designed to educate Asian children. I learned so many skills that I use to this day when tutoring students in English.As a humanitarian aid worker and English as a Second Language teacher once living in South Africa, Taiwan, and China it only is fitting to compare my real-life experiences with scholarly studies to better understand the systems that make environments.
