I am currently working towards my degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Dayton. In high school, I tutored students around my age frequently with my school's chapter of Mu Alpha Theta (math national honor society). Since I arrived at college, I have been tutoring my peers in calculus, biology, and chemistry. I'm an engineering major, so of course my favorite subjects are science and math. I love to teach students any type of math or science; in fact, I find it fun. Although, I do find things other than school fun (I'm not that lame). I'm involved in a considerable amount of extracurricular activities at UD. I play trombone my school's jazz band (which recently travelled to New Orleans) and for my school's pep band (which supports the best basketball team in the A10 [go Flyers!]). I'm also on the club racquetball team for my school and I am a hockey fanatic. Despite the fact that most engineering majors are introverts, I am quite the talker. I will enjoy sitting down with you and talking through any issues you may have with your subject. I tend to make my students work on their own up to the point where they get stuck in a problem and explain their thought process as they go through. That way, I can understand what my students understand and what they don't. I hope you choose me as your tutor and I am looking forward to helping you succeed!

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania. I am majoring in Bioengineering with a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship. During my time in high school, I received a lot of experience with tutoring youth through my participation in my school's Study Buddies program. Through this program, I was able to tutor middle school students from my area in a variety of subjects that were challenging to them. While I am available to tutor in many subjects, I am most passionate about math and science.

When we are struggling, we often blame ourselves or our own insufficiencies. However, I strongly believe that no student is "slow" ill suited to the subject; rather, students who are struggling need a little support and an adult who is eager to invest time and energy into their success. In a tutoring session with me, you should expect to engage in the content you're learning in ways that best suit your needs and interests so that you can be successful and confident in class.I currently live in Dayton, Ohio but I've lived all over the country. I graduated with a dual major from Millersville University of Pennsylvania, where I was an active part of the honors college and graduated summa cum laude. I coached and tutored though high school and college, where I realized my passion for meeting students where they were and helping them succeed in their next steps. I taught several different courses of high school science for several years and loved it. My favorite part of teaching was building relationships and supporting students, which is why I am tutoring!I am most excited to tutor middle and high school science students, but I tutor many subjects for students of all ages. I enjoy the tutoring experience because of the one-on-one interaction allows students to get more individualized support that is rooted in their own needs and interests.

I have a lot of experience in the education field. I've worked as a classroom teacher, a college lecturer, a tutor, and even a school board member. I've been a school board vice president, and a non-profit chair, treasurer, and vice-chair. I have also served as the Sarajevo Subcommittee chair for the Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina subcommittee of the Dayton Sister City Committee. I'm also recently engaged and have two cats: Dude and Bunny (both girls). I love to travel, particularly to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Hobbies include the occasional bird-watching expedition, riding my motorcycle or bike, creating artwork (particularly with wood or clay), practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and podcasting or playing music. In terms of how I can help you, I teach a variety of social studies subjects, including (but not limited to): history, economics, psychology, government, geography, and political science. I love each of these subjects and look forward to helping you. In addition to social studies I also love social media and have a TikTok account with 12,000 followers, so I love tutoring clients about how to make engaging viral content and strategies to grow your online presence.

Growing up in Huber Heights, Ohio set a foundation for international travel that was sparked by community pride and local service projects. Graduating from Miami University of Ohio in 2003 was only the start of a wonderful exploration of further learning. My preliminary Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communications would open the door to job positions with Walt Disney World that ultimately led me to continue my education in China. For me to pursue my international passion to travel I received a Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) certificate from Oxford Seminars. Teaching English in China would also be accompanied by an additional online course from Columbia University Teachers College. These online modules were specifically designed to educate Asian children. I learned so many skills that I use to this day when tutoring students in English. As a humanitarian aid worker and English as a Second Language teacher once living in South Africa, Taiwan, and China it only is fitting to compare my real-life experiences with scholarly studies to better understand the systems that make environments. It would be an honor and privilege to tutor you in English. The international community interests me and further provides real life learning. My background and long-term goals are a good fit for you. I hope to contribute as much as I receive.
