I recently graduated from Berklee College of Music with my Master of Music in Contemporary Performance with a concentration in production. Before that, I attended Arizona State University and received my Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education with an emphasis in French horn performance. I have always loved music and sharing my knowledge with others, and my educational experiences, along with other touring performance and civic engagement organizations, have allowed these two passions to intersect. If I had to put a title on my work, I would list a number of things - performer, composer, arranger, orchestrator, producer, educator. However, I love to condense these ideas into one word - artist. My philosophy is to use my skills and my network to equip my students with the tools they need to succeed at their specific goals. When I'm not making music, I love reading and getting outside to provide a sense of balance in my life and seek new sparks of inspiration.

During my teaching years while obtaining my PhD in Mathematics, I taught courses such as College Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Vector and Trigonometry (for an aviation program training future pilots at the St. Cloud State University, MN), and Vector Calculus (Multi-Variable Calculus).I taught Vector Calculus for many terms and received a letter of recognition by the Math Department Chair of the Oregon State University for strong student evaluations.I love doing Mathematics and enjoy teaching Mathematics. It's always a happy moment for me when my students learn.

I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from Northern Arizona University and my master's degree in psychology with an emphasis in neuroscience from San Diego State University. I have been a teaching assistant for undergraduates and have clinical experience working with children and teenagers, both typically developing and with autism spectrum disorder. The subjects I tutor are varied, but I focus on statistics and mathematics through pre-calculus along with test preparation and essay writing. I am also available to tutor psychology and German (beginner- and intermediate-level). Although I enjoy helping students improve in all subjects, I find that tutoring for standardized tests offers particularly rewarding experiences given the potential impact on students' future academic endeavors. My teaching style involves helping students find their ideal learning style based on their individual strengths and unique way of perceiving information. I try to focus on teaching "how" to think constructively rather than "what" to think. In my free time, I enjoy exercising in some form outdoors, exploring good coffee shops and local restaurants, planning my next vacation, and spending time with family and friends.

Since high school, I have volunteered and participated in activities that always supported students. I loved being a literacy lab tutor because it helped others and also helped me. I enjoyed growing in the subjects I tutored, and the students' motivation always motivated me.

I am a undergraduate student at Loyola University Chicago. I am an Accounting major with an Information Systems minor.When I was younger, my dream job was to be a teacher. Although that is not the career path I ultimately chose, I have continued my interest in helping others learn through tutoring my own younger siblings. With Varsity Tutor, I will be able to extend my help and my advice to other students and since I am currently a student, I can relate to the hardships that they may go through as courses and exams can be difficult at times.Since I am an Accounting major, I have been taking accounting courses in college and in high school. Therefore, I am well educated in the beginner level and college level accounting. I also like to keep all my notes from each class I take.I also have experience tutoring elementary school math as I have tutored my own siblings in the subject.

I am an undergraduate student at Penn State in Schreyer Honors College. I am pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Biobehavioral Health on a pre-medicine track. All throughout my life, I have been passionate about teaching and inspiring others! I have taught academic subjects such as French and Algebra II as well as dance and piano throughout high school. While I am comfortable in many subjects, I am most interested in tutoring biology and chemistry and advocating for science. In my spare time, I love fitness, self-care, cooking, baking, reading, dancing, and singing.

I am currently a rising senior at Vanderbilt University majoring in Human and Organizational Development with a minor in Chinese. I chose a major and minor combination that focuses on international business because I grew up in Singapore and would love to eventually return back to Asia. Throughout my time living in Asia, I traveled extensively and had the opportunity to work with children in Thailand and Cambodia, and help inspire them to pursue an education. Based on my experiences abroad, I believe that education has the power to change an individual's life for the better.Throughout my time at Vanderbilt, I have worked as an ACT tutor. I have always been passionate about helping students gain confidence in standardized testing, and think it is important for students to have a mentor that has already been through the process. While test prep can be difficult, it is extremely rewarding to see students excel and reach their goal scores. In addition to standardized test prep, I also have extensive experience with essay writing and editing. Essay writing has always been a passion of mine and I look forward to helping students overcome any obstacles they may have with writing.
