I have 17 years teaching experience as an elementary ESL and middle school Spanish teacher in Minnesota with students from about 20 different countries and many language backgrounds. In 2019 I was nominated for Minnesota Teacher of the Year. It makes my day to see students proud of reaching each goal they set out to conquer! I've worked with students on English listening, speaking, reading, vocabulary and phonics goals, as well as language-related content goals (science, math, social studies, etc) in order to improve test-taking skills. While learning, we try to keep things fun with TPR movements, music, mnemonics, game-style learning activities, etc., as it helps our brain remember when we feel at ease. However, I also keep high expectations so students grow as much as possible. That's why my students feel proud of their accomplishments - they worked hard and earned it!

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University where I received my Master's in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. I also hold a Bachelors in Arts for Sociology and in Spanish. Through my graduate program, I received my teacher certification in the state of Texas for teaching Spanish Early Childhood-12 Grade, English as a Second Language, and English Language Arts and Reading 6-8. In the past, I have taught Spanish as a world language to students in grades 9 - 12. I also worked as an ESL teacher to students in grades 6 - 8 where I helped English language learners adjust to life in the United States and prepare them for success in all core academic subjects for two years. In 2021, I lived in Spain and taught English to students K-6. Since 2022 I have started teaching 8th grade English Language Arts. I have many years of experience tutoring students at the secondary level for English, Spanish, French, and various social studies subjects including Texas History, U.S. History, World History, Sociology, and Psychology.

I was born and raised in Venezuela. I received my Petroleum Engineering bachelor's degree. Since then, my journey to travel the world began. I lived on three different continents and visited many countries. I have always been passionate about people development, and teaching is one of them. I dedicated more than seven years to building and teaching several courses globally. Introducing a new language is a way to make my students travel abroad and learn about other cultures while having fun learning Spanish.I love to read, walk, and spend time with my family in my spare time.

I have been a teacher for over 25 years. However, my experience does not hinder my enthusiasm for the learning process. I believe each individual learns when he/she feels comfortable. This allows for mistakes to become stepping stones on the way to mastery and I'm here to guide through each individual process with positive reinforcement, a dash of humor and fun interactions. My passion for learning is echoed in my teaching style. I am a life-long learner and have traveled through Europe, Asia, and Latin America. I have significantly grown through my time living in Bolivia, Italy, Nepal, and Mexico. These international posts gave me the opportunity to expand my cultural knowledge and be more open-minded. I strongly believe that we all, regardless of our age or background, continue to evolve not only academically but also in our day to day interactions with each other and with our surroundings. I am a very flexible teacher, ensuring every student's learning style and abilities are addressed. I like teaching conversational Spanish, vocabulary, grammar, and writing at all levels. I enjoy giving classes with daily everyday topics or the basics needed. The best way to learn a foreign language is with a native teacher without an accent and who knows and practices an up-to-date language. What I most enjoy about being a teacher is when the students understand and use the Spanish learned in the "real world." I graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Doctorate in Education in Distance Learning and Instructional Technology. I also have a Masters Degree in Special Education, specifically in Administration of Early Intervention Programs, from the University of Phoenix. At Bachelors level, I studied Visual Arts and Teaching English as a Second Language. CuTeacherrrently, I'm a certified Bilingual and Spanish from the state of Texas. I have taught at all levels: from PK to university level. In addition, I have trained and work as a coach for other teachers. I've also taught adults that want to become better English/Spanish speakers in an university setting. I've worked in other educational areas like being a Consultant for the Puerto Rico Department of Education, where I had to write official letters in name of the Secretary of Education and as an Educational Project Manager, where I designed and administered innovative education projects. Educate has being my life and passion.Every person has a unique learning style. Through the years I've been working as a teacher I've learned that school systems aren't designed to fit everyone. Don't worry if your kid seems not to fit.
