I am a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where I majored in Mathematics and Political Science. I am an avid reader and writer. I have been tutoring since I was in high school, and I find it very rewarding to watch my students improve through our work. As a tutor, I make sure my students understand the fundamentals of the topic we are reviewing. I then work on practice problems with them until they know the ins and outs of the subject area. These notes will contain the student's long-term goal-- or just a goal for the session-- as well as what the student would like to improve. My notes will contain any resources or diagrams used. This includes any outlines I may have created myself for the student regarding subject content, study plans, organizational and study tips, or writing outlines. These notes are for me to keep track of the student's goals, and keep a record of the information we studied. I understand you may also want to look at my notes to gauge how successful the tutoring session was, and to see what I reviewed with your child. You may want to even read the goals we wrote down and use my notes to help your child study, which is great! I am looking forward to working with your child.

After completing secondary school in South Africa, I did a PG year at a high school in Connecticut.During my year in Connecticut, I took Honors and AP Chemistry, Honors and AP Physics, and Honors Calculus; I also received the CollegeBoard AP Scholar with Honors Award.I have experience tutoring the New SAT. I understand the material and subtle nuances of the test. I have developed test-taking strategies that help a great deal when taking the SAT.

I am a lawyer, an English major, and former educational administrator who recently started a business. I live in Brooklyn and I'm originally from Jacksonville, Florida. I've lived all over the country in Los Angeles, Chicago, Florida, and NYC. Formerly I practiced bankruptcy law.I have passed the bar exam in three states via self-study on my first try for each: California (2015), New York (2020 UBE), and Illinois (2007). On the UBE I scored in the top 8 percentile. During the past few years I've taught numerous students how to pass the bar exam in many states.I am also skilled with essay writing, composition, editing, test taking strategy, literature, reading comprehension, and all areas of government/civics and law.

I also have deep experience in the business world so can guide adults in learning Mandarin for business and travel.Additionally I love writing and literature and enjoy working with high-schoolers in perfecting their college admissions essays.
