My credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Exceptional Student education, a Master's in TESOL, Florida Elementary K-6 and ESE K-12 certifications, an ESOL endorsement, over 8 years of classroom experience, and several years of tutoring experience. I also speak Spanish fluently. The focus of my experience is in working with learners with reading difficulties. For the last few years I worked at a school serving students with language based disabilities such as dyslexia. There I learned how to teach students with language based learning difficulties based on the latest research and clinical methods. I attended Lindamood-Bell trainings on Seeing Stars and Visualizing & Verbalizing which helps all students learn how to read and improve their comprehension, and used these methods with success in the classroom and in tutoring.I have also enjoyed the opportunity to work with students with dyslexia, autism, Asperger's Syndrome, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, ADHD, physical disabilities, and speech impairments. These experiences have helped me become a well rounded and compassionate individual who is able to take each student's unique aspirations, needs, and interests into account, and create effective lesson plans and activities to accommodate them.I taught in Abu Dhabi for 3 years, and gained abundant knowledge and skills in teaching level 1 English learners, as well as early childhood. I planned and led English and Math lessons to children who did not speak any English. Using methods like sheltered instruction and student centered activities, the students learned English and subject area content.I welcome the opportunity to work with you to benefit your academic agenda.

I have a very diverse background. My first academic passion was competitive debate. For years I immersed myself in a world of arguments ranging from the politically concrete to the philosophically abstract. Three and a half years ago I had a professor at the University of Michigan who opened up the life changing power of literature and after that I began passionately pursuing language for its beautiful and poetic qualities. Since then, I have finished a degree in English literature as well as spending substantial time abroad. My experiences as a traveler and foreigner have left me astounded at the diversity of ways to cultivate the mind and now I am a regular yoga practitioner and meditator.I find myself using all of the different skills and habits I have learned through those various experiences each day. Knowing the inner workings of reason and argumentation, poetic and literary language, and how to focus and calm the mind all complement one another.Whatever I teach you, it will be a way of thinking. Certainly we will deal with content; one can never learn a process without something to apply it to. Having me as a tutor though will be more valuable than a difference made on the grade for a single assignment. I will help you to see the larger principles at work in whatever you are grappling with.

Being the first in my family to go to college and medical school was not easy. Through many long years of hard work and with the help of my mentors, I was able to accomplish something I truly thought was impossible. I only hope I can also help others come one step closer to their dreams by helping them through their education.

I am a Junior at Illinois State University. I am double-majoring in English and Philosophy. I am working towards my B.A. and then I am going to attend Northwestern to study Law. I tutor a variety of subjects, but my favorite area to tutor is writing because it allows me to really get to know my students and see their unique perspective on a topic. My teaching method is very student specific. I talk to the student and figure out what learning style they work best with and I go from there. My goal is to help the student to reach their goal. I love working with kids; in my free time I babysit my two nephews and I also coach travel softball. I have experience tutoring all ages through High School.

I am a scientist turned non-traditional pre-med. I earned my Master's Degree in Biology from the University of Notre Dame in 2022, where I studied phenotypes of malaria genetic cross progeny. While working full-time in a public health laboratory, I conquered my MCAT exam and have gained 5 medical school acceptances in the current application cycle. Having received support from fellow tutors during my own journey, I find it deeply satisfying to help other pre-med students on the journey to their medical school acceptance. As part of my degree programs, I have taught several different science classes at the university level and worked as a tutor part-time. I also have experience in graduate program recruitment and interview coaching, so I am here to help you through your medical school journey at every step of the way. I look forward to working with you!

Hello, my name is Patrick. For the last five years, I have taught English as a second language and Business English in some of the most prestigious academies in Seoul and South Korea in general. I've learned quite a lot from my experiences helping students of all ages improve grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading, and writing and I look forward to using those experiences to help students here in the US. I've helped students prepare presentations for their company's executives, corrected essays for students applying to US graduate schools, and advised negotiations between students and their foreign clients. My style of teaching/tutoring is not all rote learning, though. I adapt my style to the comfort of my student. If you want to hit the books and cram some knowledge before a test, let's do it. If you want to practice your conversation skills, I'm there for you, but I'll be taking notes so that you leave each of my sessions with substantial feedback.Apart from tutoring English-related subjects, I write and perform music for guitar and tutor philosophy online.

My name is Joy Rhodes and I'm a freshman Psychology major at Howard University. School has always been a place of successful learning and growing curiosity for me. Though I've always performed well in my academics, I didn't develop a love for tutoring until my junior and senior year of high school. I'd always be the kid in class to help my peers work through a problem, but I never considered working one on one with other students until I was inducted into my high school's Math Honors Society. Through this, I was required to tutor and work with students in a variety of subjects including the following: Algebra 1, Basic Math, Reading and Writing, and Spanish. Seeing my students' eyes light up as they worked through an assignment that they didn't think they could solve brought me great joy. In addition to tutoring, I was a Math Senior Leader at my high school. I assisted in teaching Algebra 1 to a class of freshmen. This was very important to me because tutoring and teaching became less about getting the student to do their work, and more about the special bonds that I've built with them in their successful learning process. Outside of math, I've received my Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy in the Spanish Language. I've also been a section leader in my orchestra for the past 7 years. Being a section leader not only required me to work with violinists in mastering their pieces, I've also volunteered with children learning to play the violin, and teaching them basic music theory. All of these experiences are what have brought me here today. Not only do I love learning, I love working with those who have a desire to learn and helping them overcome their obstacles.
