Elementary Math Tutoring review by Madeline in Marion County, IN
During my session with student one, we reviewed rounding and geometry. Student one is very bright and is learning very quickly. During my lesson with student two, we reviewed equations and solved for an unknown variable. Student two already knew how to do this and only needed a few refreshers.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Andrea in Marion County, IN
During our last session, I gave the student some extra time working with the multiplication apps on my iPad to help her review her multiplication facts. Then, we moved on to talk about multiplying and dividing with larger numbers that end with 0's. We talked about what patterns she noticed when working with each operation. After, we talked about coordinate grids and how to plot points on them. She asked specifically about that, and I was really glad that she did! She expressed that she never understood it, so I was glad that she spoke up and asked questions. It has been a delight working with her!

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Hyerin in Marion County, IN
During our session, we worked on some multiplication flashcards that involved numbers from 1-12. The student did well with these problems. He struggled with a few, but he did well-- especially after I told him about multiplying "easy numbers" like he did with addition (ex. solving 8x9 by first solving 8x10). His motivation level was great throughout the session.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Ainsley in Marion County, IN
During our tutoring session today, we covered multiple concepts. With Student 1, we continued to work on multiplication and division and focused on fractions. We modeled fractions using fraction strips and number bonds and focused on modeling shaded and unshaded regions of a model. With Student 2, we worked on adding and subtracting with decimals as well as a review of what each place means in a decimal. I also reviewed median with him as warm up, as this is a skill he continues to struggle with. Both students had a small homework assignment for the next day.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Jennifer in Marion County, IN
During the beginning of the session, I covered a mini lesson on money, focusing on calculating change. The student mastered the topic and practiced additional money word problems, where he had to decide whether to add or subtract. The rest of the session was spent playing a math game that reinforced strategies when adding three number together. He enjoyed the game. I provided him with some work to practice his math skills. I am confident that he is now on grade level in math and will excel next year as a third grader.
