We went over ratios and proportions, and word problems in finding the rate finishing a task. My responsibility for next time is to give him books containing fun quizzes and puzzles in percentages, fractions, ratios and proportions. He is expected to look at the supplemental exercise problems in his module.

We reviewed for a quiz on polar coordinates and vectors. The student still needs to go over formulas from the material. He should do well.

Tutoring review by Ashley in Speedway, IN
The student has been practicing his math facts through a suggested website and has improved on the instant recall of those facts. He did review those facts before the tutoring session which may have helped him. He is still struggling retaining information. When we worked on reading strategies and comprehension skills, it was clear that he knew the skills and understood what he needed to do. He needs a regular reminder of what he was asked to answer or work on. I worked with him on more techniques to remember what he has read. I also worked on keeping him focused on the task at hand before he moves on to something else.

In today's session the student worked on a major assignment, combining spreadsheet and statistics skills. On the spreadsheet front, she used absolute and relative references, formulas and variable names. In the statistical arena, she was faced with regression modelling, and hypothesis testing. Her focus was admirable, as she asked and answered key questions.

Tutoring review by Katherine in Speedway, IN
This was my last session with the student to prepare for his final. He did much better today with all the subjects we went over than he did yesterday. He has a good understanding of quadratics and graphing polynomials, and the only thing he really struggles with is making small math mistakes when he's rushing through problems.
