Do Cleveland GMAT classes cover the same materials tested on the GMAT?
The GMAT is comprised of 4 sections. Each section has its own time allotment and the number of questions varies from section to section. You will be asked to respond to the questions in either multiple choice or essay form depending on what is asked within each section. Your total test time, without including optional breaks, will last around 3.5 hours. You want to use your time management skills wisely as you are taking the GMAT. The section titles are Analytical Writing, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Integrated Reasoning. As the test taker, you will have three sequence options for the sections that you can choose from.
Let's start with Analytical Writing. This section will show test schools your advanced writing skills. There is one essay question that will ask you to write a written response. You must organize your thoughts and produce a quality reply that supports your examples. You must identify the important aspects of the argument and provide a thorough evaluation of the given argument. This portion of the GMAT exam lasts 30 minutes and is computer-based.
The Quantitative Reasoning section of the GMAT is next. Quantitative Reasoning asks you to showcase your problem solving and data sufficiency skills. This section incorporates 31 questions in which you have 62 minutes to respond. The problem solving questions require you to use logical reasoning to solve common but difficult professional problems. These are all multiple choice questions. When you encounter the data sufficiency questions, you must rely on and display your critical thinking skills to identify particular data and decide when there is enough data to make an educated decision.
The third section of the GMAT is Verbal Reasoning. This section includes questions that cover your reading comprehension, critical reasoning, and sentence correction skills. Within the Verbal Reasoning section, there are 36 questions you must respond to. The time allowed to complete this section is 65 minutes. Verbal Reasoning questions cover grammar and sentence structure, drawing inferences, understanding logistical relationships, making and evaluating arguments, forming or assessing action plans, clarity of sentence expression, and answering questions based on short reading passages.
This final section of the GMAT is called Integrated Reasoning. This portion of the exam requires you to use your ability to incorporate multiple data sources to evaluate and interpret the information given to you in text, graphics, and number data format. Another skill set that is tested is problem-solving, along with the ability to combine information from additional sources to resolve advanced problems. The Integrated Reasoning portion of the exam has twelve questions and the time given to complete this section of the test is 30 minutes. Most of the questions in this section include multi-source reasoning, table analysis, graphic interpretation, and two-part analysis of data. Your decision-making skills in a professional environment are the focus of this section. Business schools will use the results from this section to get an idea of how well you can make decisions on complex issues.

Kevin: Cleveland GMAT course instructor
I am a chemical and environmental engineer of long experience who has a knack for explaining science and math concepts in ways that students can understand, helping them to get the concepts. I also help students with their homework in all those areas. While my strong suit is math and science, I can also help explain concepts in English, writing, history, and social studies, as well as edit/proofread papers as needed.... While I am not expert in reading comprehension help, I would try to have the students outline the passage and perhaps draw a picture of what is being discussed. If they can break the passage down by what the sentences are discussing, they can then try to put everything together for a good result.

Emerson said that the secret of education is respecting the student. I have the greatest respect for that part of the human spirit that is curious and wants to learn. I find that if students feel they are listened to and heard, this allows them to feel encouraged. When they begin to understand that learning can be fun, the whole process becomes exciting and joyful. We are all curious and like to learn.
