Students often face critical issues when they are introduced to the most fundamental precepts of algebra. When your child sees letters and other symbols used to represent numbers in different expressions and equations, the sight of even a simple algebra problem may have them feeling bewildered and confused.

If your child has expressed frustrations when dealing with algebra, you may want to consider connecting with an algebra tutor. When you call Varsity Tutors, you may let our educational directors assist you in finding a tutor in Cleveland who may try to help your child work toward understanding their algebra course.

Today I proctored for the student for the first hour. We worked on solving equations with radicals once more. She is beginning to get a better grasp on working with radicals. I then tutored her for an hour and a half and we finished up a homework assignment involving graphing radical functions and, she did extremely well. We are still working on training each other on how to work these problems and, having her ask me more questions.

In today's session, the student went over a chapter review to prepare for a test she has on Thursday. We looked over all of the topics we covered in our previous sessions including rationalizing radicals, operations with radical expressions, and solving radical expressions. She really has no issues with these topics. I focused primarily on having her slow down, check over each of her answers, and make sure nothing can be simplified further. If she can do this, I have no doubt she will make an A on her test.

We kind of did a little bit of everything during this session. Worked on algebra and reviewing naming specific concepts because she has a test over it. I went over one of her quizzes with her and then made a few quick quizzes on the spot. Then we did an English worksheet together where she had to correct a few paragraphs of text (grammar, syntax, pronouns, etc.) and then she had to retype it. Then we worked on pronouns a bit because apparently she struggled with them on a test recently.
