Divided session into focus on writing, then focus on reading. Discussed various question types, strategies for each, and applied those to practice problems, discussing the answers afterward. Tutoring review by Sam in Prince George's County, MD
This session went very well. She still needs to work on reading the whole problem. She is doing better at seeing what she does need and what she needs to get there.  Her geometry work has gotten a lot better, as have her abilities with percents. She knows what she needs to work on and is ready to do it before her test next weekend.

One set of problems, I took home to work on, and then later sent a better explanation with the problem worked out.

The student continues to progress with his brain busters. We also worked on multiplication, division and multiple choice problems. He and I worked on essay writing. We focused mostly on structure, ideas, phrasing and organization, and not much on mechanics. We emphasized how it is important to get ahead on these assignments so that there is plenty of time to proofread for word choice and mechanics.
