If you are an undergrad or professional looking to apply to a school such as The Graduate School at the University of Cincinnati, Varsity Tutors would be happy to connect you to the best Cincinnati GRE prep options available.
The GRE is a three-section standardized exam that measures the skills needed to be successful in an upper-level college course. The GRE exam is accepted at thousands of different graduate schools and measures your Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing skills. These are skills you're expected to have learned over the entire course of your academic career. A Cincinnati GRE prep course can help you brush up on the various skills necessary to do well on the GRE. Let's take a closer look at the skills necessary for each section.
What can Cincinnati GRE prep cover?
The Analytical Writing section consists of two separately timed half-hour tasks in which you must analyze both an issue and an argument. This part of the GRE measures your ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely. You'll need to support your ideas with solid evidence while maintaining a focused and logical discussion using proper written English conventions. You'll also want to practice planning and writing a response within the time limit while allowing extra time to edit for errors and clarity. A GRE prep course or instructor can help you practice supporting your ideas with relevant reasons and examples.
The Verbal Reasoning section consists of two separate sections. Each section takes 30 minutes to complete and contains 20 questions. This section of the GRE measures your reading comprehension, text completion, and sentence equivalence skills. There are about 10 passages you'll need to read in this assessment and you'll need to answer up to 6 questions on each different passage. You will need to be able to recognize relationships among words and concepts as well as analyzing relationships between different parts of sentences. A GRE review session can help you to review how to analyze a text and reach logical conclusions or practice summarizing the given passage. You will also need to showcase your ability to complete or edit a sentence using proper English.
The last section is the Quantitative Reasoning section. This part of the GRE consists of two separate 35-minute sections. Each section in the Quantitative Reasoning portion of the test GRE contains 20 questions in which you must look at quantitative information and solve problems using mathematical models. You will need to brush up on your arithmetic, algebraic, geometric, and data analysis skills. You'll be given access to either an online or physical calculator depending on whether you are taking your test on paper or the computer. Questions in this section can be either multiple-choice or numeric entry. Practicing these kinds of problems with an expert instructor can help you gain confidence in your ability to do well on the section of the GRE.
Whether you're wanting to do a comprehensive review of all of these skills or preferred to focus on one section of the GRE, Varsity Tutors can set you up with the right GRU review option to suit your exact instructional and scheduling needs.
What are the benefits of the different types of Cincinnati GRE preparation?
When you sign up for GRE review through Varsity Tutors, you gain access to two excellent types of GRE review. You can either sign up for an online GRE class or elect to work with a private GRE instructor. Both options are an exceptional tool for students hoping to apply to an MBA, Master's, or Doctorate program. Each option comes with its own set of benefits and advantages so let's take a closer look at both opportunities.
For prospective students who prefer a social, structure learning environment similar to what is found in a traditional classroom, you can sign up for an online, interactive Cincinnati GRE prep class. You'll be able to hear, speak to, and see your instructor as if he or she is in the same room as you. You'll also be able to participate in group activities and discussions about the various skills needed to do well on the GRE. For example, you can set up a peer editing group to work on your Analytical Writing skills or have a discussion on the best ways to analyze and interpret Quantitative data. This type of guided practice can provide you with instant feedback about your academic progress and help you gain confidence in your ability to do well. You'll have the opportunity to choose between a 2-week and 4-week class. With new sessions beginning weekly, you can get started as soon as you're ready. This makes it very easy to fit expert instruction into your agenda.
If you are the type of student who prefers a one-on-one approach to learning, you may wish to sign up to work with a private Cincinnati GRE tutor. This provides you with the opportunity to work with personalized lesson plans, which are based on your particular areas of need and skip over areas you've already mastered. Your private instructor can monitor your progress and your lessons can be adjusted as your skills improve. You will also be able to schedule your tutoring sessions to fit into your personal timeframe.
Some students may even wish to take a vantage of both options, which can provide you with both the structured environment and individual attention as you review for your GRE. No matter which option you choose, Varsity Tutors is here to support you as you work towards meeting your academic goals.

There's always another way to apporach a topic, and I'm happy to try until we've found what works. I credit this...

I have recently graduated with dual degrees in education and in dance. I am passionate about learning and am excited to share that passion with students of all ages and abilities.... I think that it is most important to teach students to think for themselves rather than let others dictate their beliefs and opinions. I also strongly believe in individualized education and catering to each student's needs on a case-by-case basis. People don't just learn from being given information; there are an infinite amount of paths to learning and interacting with information.
