Tutoring is about a lot more than studying, tests, and knowledge. I believe the interpersonal relationship involved with teaching greatly benefits both parties. Learning is fundamental to life- and turning otherwise cumbersome and difficult tasks like passing a hard class into a lightbulb moment is where I find my satisfaction. Turning such a familiar struggle into newfound realization and understanding is what I aim for.

...Flexibility, perceptiveness, perseverance, and patience are all things I believe tutors need. My approach is to see what the student knows first, ask a lot of questions, explain things multiple ways, and test for understanding. Learning is a reciprocal process, so I definitely believe in soliciting feedback from students and parents. Outside of academia, I enjoy running by the lake, preserving fall foliage, playing with dough (real, not play-doh), and playing violin.

I'm majoring in Mathematics Education, and plan to teach High School Math when I graduate.
