My passions are education and children. I have always loved teaching but after teaching for 8 years, I realized that I knew how to teach but I didn't know how children learn so I took a sabbatical and went back to school. I got a Master of Education with a major in Educational Psychology/Learning Theory.

Those classes made me realize that all children can learn. They learn at different rates but they can learn. I also know now that you must find out what concepts a child already knows so that you can design the lesson to hook the new concept to the knowledge the child already has. The third thing I learned is if the child is not understanding the concept you are teaching, the teacher has a duty to change the teaching style to match the child's learning style.
