I earned my Bachelor's degree in English and minored in Native American Studies at the University of West Virginia. I am currently working on my Master's in Secondary Education and working as a substitute teacher. I understand that learning is a process, and it is also on-going. I have always been more than ready to expand my mind and help others access their abilities to change the framework of a world that needs a steady hand. My definition of teaching is very much in fact worlds more than a profession.

According to my connotation, it unlocks the door of endless possibilities where knowledge and the power of each individual can find a wholesome place in a world where finding your place is often difficult. Teaching is not only the practice of relaying important information, nor does it end with the application of knowledge in order to develop societal roles. For me, teaching is a platform for the growth of the mind, and a path for reasoning. Learning should not be so difficult that it is also painful. Learning should be a collaborative effort, and include an understanding between both teacher and student. I am firm believer in acceptance and harmony. Everyone views the world differently and in turn has a different cultural standpoint. In order to embrace these differences and not execute them, we must embrace each other in a way that is respectful and in doing so, new relationships will form between cultures. All relationships work and endure much better when in synchronization with one another.

We must consider cause and effect, and how each individual has the power to not only destroy, but also create; we must create new ways to view the world and each other, so we can all learn and grow together, and the first step is through education.
