How can a Government tutor help you?

A love of politics can drive students many places in an educational career. Sometimes it takes the form of a pre-law program, while other times it creates a desire for more history courses. No matter how politics is studied, courses in government and politics have to be priorities. A government class necessitates that students learn a wide variety of skills, some of which may be familiar from other courses in the social sciences, but many of which will be unique to the academic study of government. Whether you need help learning US or international politics, or political theory, Varsity Tutors can help find you the perfect tutor. It doesn't matter if you need help boosting your grade or you are just looking to get the highest mark, tutors can help you either way.

A background in history is crucial to understanding the role of government, but conversation and analyses utilized in government classes quite often depart from typical historical approaches. Mastering all of these different skills on your own can be quite difficult. Not learning these skills can cause you to fall further and further behind your classmates. Getting help may be necessary to get the results you need in your government class. A tutor can give you that help. Varsity Tutors can help you find a professional tutor who specializes in government. Government tutors are people who love politics, history, and social sciences. They have degrees from some of the best colleges and universities in the country, and they know everything you need to learn for your class. But these tutors are much more than knowledgeable; they are educators who have helped many students succeed in government courses. These teachers can help you achieve your academic goals as well.

Today the student and I had our last meeting together. Since we previously completed a study guide for the student, we decided to spend our time studying the chapter questions a few at a time, to figure out what areas he needs to study most before his test, which is online and open-book.

We focused on the students American Government assignment during the session. He completed two thirds of the assignment on his own primarily the short answer and definition portions. We reviewed and expanded his answers as needed focusing on providing examples when necessary. We then outlined and discussed the essay writing portions of the exam. We created a detailed outline for his first essay and brainstormed contemporary examples that he could include. The student has only one major assignment for the following week which is a government exam. In the next session we are planning on reviewing either his sociology notes or studying for his exam.

Today we made an outline for the student's government paper. We went over his assignments for the rest of the week and we read a poem and analyzed it. We also discussed the screenplay that he has to write by Friday.

During my first session with the student, we started with some "icebreakers" and a discussion about his school and classes. After learning that he was studying the Bill of Rights, I played a fun rap song about the first 10 amendments to the Constitution. We then outlined major Supreme Court cases involving civil liberties and made flashcards to practice. We finished by playing the song 41 Shots by Bruce Springsteen, a powerful song that relates to illegal searches and seizures.
