Greetings, I am a graduate of Montclair State University. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Math with a concentration in education. During college was where I first got involved in tutoring. I was originally a business major and while taking a business calculus class I found my passion in education. Some of my classmates struggled with the content and the concepts were fairly easy for me to grasp. After I helped my classmates, I felt such joy in the fact that I was helping someone in their life. From there I started to help my friends and eventually I change my major from business to Math with a focus in Education. I graduated in 2012 and since that time I have been a full-time teacher in a NJ High School. After school I do voluntary tutoring, and I am also a football and wrestling coach. I have taught 7th and 8th grade math, Algebra 1, and Geometry. I have also tutored in all those subjects including Algebra 2. I am most passionate about Algebra 1 as I believe that here is when students start to develop their critical thinking and reasoning skills. When teaching I like to focus on the why, I like to get students to draw off of their prior knowledge in order to answer the question that is presented before them. I accomplish this through the use of questions. In my spare time, I enjoy solving puzzles (Sudoku and brain teasers) watching sports, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
