I'm currently a first year grad student at California College of the Arts, pursuing my MFA in Writing. I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Creative Writing and a Philosophy minor. I have been teaching and tutoring all ages for the past six years in a variety of roles: as an after-school program supervisor instructing elementary school students in reading, writing, and even cooking; as an outdoor educator and camp counselor; as an environmental studies instructor; and most extensively, as a teacher and tutor of Creative and Critical Writing. I tutor elementary, middle, and high school students in English, grammar and mechanics, writing, editing, and reading. I also have significant experience with essay writing for college and graduate school, and I speak conversational Spanish and will be a Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate Writing 1: ESL course this Spring semester. Although I love tutoring many different subjects, my favorite subject is Creative Writing, and I love teaching poetry and fiction. I'm currently working on a poetry chapbook, a screenplay, a cookbook, and a children's book series, and when I'm not working on those projects, I'm often hiking with my dog, coming up with new recipes in the kitchen, reading on the beach, or dreaming about my next traveling adventure.
