When it comes to comprehensive Tulsa LSAT prep, Varsity Tutors can set you up with an LSAT course or private tutoring. If you want to attend a law school, you have probably been looking into the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). This test is used to assess your abilities and how well you can apply them to situations you will likely face in law school. You can join a reliable Tulsa LSAT prep course or connect with a private instructor to take your test review to the next level. You don't have to study on your own to prepare for such an important exam.
Whether you've been studying for the LSAT for a while or you haven't even looked the test up, our educational consultants can help guide you toward the type of LSAT prep that can work for you. This exam is critical to your law school applications, whether you're interested in a program at The University of Tulsa College of Law or elsewhere. It is important to do your best on the LSAT.
What does Tulsa LSAT prep cover?
In all, the LSAT consists of five sections: two Logical Reasoning and one each in Reading Comprehension, Analytical Reasoning, and Writing. This test is administered through a digital tablet, which is provided at the test center. The tablet includes a timer that warns when you are five minutes away from the 35-minute time limit for each section, as well as a highlighter and a flagging system to come back to questions.
The Logical Reasoning sections focus on your legal analysis abilities. Studying law includes building upon the skills that allow you to analyze, construct, evaluate, and refute an argument. Throughout this section, you will view short arguments from several different sources, such as general interest magazines and informal discourse. Each passage will have a follow-up question or two. You will need to be able to critique the reasoning behind an argument, detect an assumption an argument may make, and otherwise apply strong legal reasoning to different scenarios.
Deductive reasoning skills are the focus in the Analytical Reasoning section. While the scenarios don't usually relate to law, the related questions assess skills that allow you to come to a logical conclusion when presented with a set of rules, such as filling in an incomplete case based on implications.
The Reading Comprehension section focuses on your ability to read and comprehend a variety of different written materials. Throughout law school and beyond it, you will be around a range of texts that are dense, expository, and argumentative. You will need to be able to use a variety of skills, such as comparison, summarization, inference, and application to work within new contexts. There are four passages on this section, among which one presents a set of comparative reading questions alongside two related passages. Questions will ask you to identify main ideas, infer meaning from a phrase using context, and understand the implication behind new information.
When it comes to the Writing section, you have up to a year after completing the rest of the exam to submit your sample. This section is taken via a secure online system. You simply install the secure proctoring software on a computer, though you are also free to take the section at a testing center. You will be presented with a problem and two decisions. Pick a decision and defend it in writing. Your goal is to showcase your argumentative writing skills while using logic, reason, organization, planning, and clarity in your response.
What Tulsa LSAT prep options are available to me?
Different students benefit from different approaches to their education. Depending on your learning preferences, you may prefer to work in a group environment or study under the guidance of a thoroughly vetted private instructor. Some students even opt to participate in a combination of a class and private tutoring. Let's look into some of the benefits and differences between the two.
LSAT classes are led by an expert instructor who has the skills and experience necessary to help you and your peers prepare for the exam. There are classes available in multiple sections of this exam with new ones starting up every week. You can choose to enroll in a two-week or four-week Tulsa LSAT prep class. Once you're signed up, you can join live classes with your classmates that are just like a traditional test prep program. Your instructor can lead your class in group discussions and activities that are geared toward the skills you need for the LSAT. If you need some extra help, you can arrange to meet privately with your instructor to work to overcome your challenges.
Alternatively, you can connect with a private Tulsa LSAT tutor to enjoy engaging study sessions that revolve around you. Your mentor can take the time to get to know your needs, goals, learning personality, and areas of opportunity to develop a personalized study plan. Unlike a class, your mentor's curriculum isn't set in stone. They can skip over areas of the test that you are confident in. Perhaps you demonstrate strong skills during practice Reading Comprehension questions and could benefit more from working to build your logical reasoning skills. Your instructor can easily focus on tasks and activities that focus on creating and refuting arguments in a variety of different situations. Each session is geared toward your needs to give you the kind of practice that works for your learning style.
How can I get started with Tulsa LSAT preparation?
Whether you're interested in studying with a group or under the instruction of a private mentor, our educational consultants can get you set up with either option. Investing in your LSAT prep can pay off in the long run. The skills assessed in this exam are foundational to your ability to thrive in a law school program. Thorough Tulsa LSAT prep can give you the opportunity to build upon your abilities with the support of an expert instructor. Contact Varsity Tutors to learn more about or to sign up for either of these LSAT prep options.

I tutor the LSAT because I know it's a hard test and I know what it's like to struggle with it. However I also understand the process necessary to produce better scores, and nothing is more satisfying to me than helping someone achieve what seemed impossible a few months ago.... Your score is a product of so many factors--your understanding of the material, your speed, even how accurately you bubble answers--but in the end it all comes down to whether you studied the test from every angle and put in the time necessary to get the results you want.
