If you're looking for quality St. Louis SIE prep, you're in the right place because Varsity Tutors is here to set you up with excellent prep options. The SIE, or Securities Industry Essentials exam, is the first step in registering with a FINRA member firm. After you take and pass the SIE, you must be associated with a member firm in order to take one of the Series qualification exams. If you're at a school such as the University of Missouri - St. Louis or Washington University in Saint Louis, St. Louis SIE prep can help you review the topics you've learned in your finance classes to prepare for the exam.
What are the various skills and topics I can review during St. Louis SIE prep?
The SIE is comprised of four different sections: Knowledge of Capital Markets; Understanding Products and Their Risks; Overview of the Regulatory Framework; and Understanding Trading, Customer Accounts, and Prohibited Activities. To pass your SIE, you must answer 70 percent or more of the questions correctly. There are 75 questions on the SIE and the exam lasts a little under two hours. There are also 10 unscored questions on the exam, but since you won't know which ones are scored or unscored, it's important to treat each question with the same consideration.
The list of topics and skills you should review for the SIE is fairly extensive, so working with an experienced prep instructor who knows the material you need to master can be helpful. With your prep instructor, you can review any topic, from types of markets or business economic factors to corporate actions and customer account registrations. These are concepts you'll not only need to know for the SIE, but also for your future securities career. This makes SIE prep a wise investment in your career.
What are the benefits of the different types of St. Louis SIE prep?
With Varsity Tutors, you have the option to benefit from two different types of SIE prep. You can either sign up to take an online SIE course or work with a private SIE coach. The benefits to be gained from either option can help you prepare for the SIE more completely. Let's take a closer look at both options.
When you sign up to take an online St. Louis SIE prep course, you'll be able to access your classes on a live, virtual platform. The platform allows you to observe your teacher just as you were in the same room. You'll also have opportunities to talk with your classmates during lessons and work on group projects together. For example, when reviewing employee conduct or prohibited activities, you can engage in discussions with your classmates to make sure you understand the specifics.
For those who prefer a less formal learning environment, a private St. Louis SIE tutor may be the right choice. A private instructor can take the time to get to know your goals, personality, preferred learning method, academic strengths, and which areas you need help in. With this information, your private teacher can create lesson plans to meet your specific learning needs. For example, if your instructor knows you are a visual learner, he or she might incorporate videos into your study sessions. With a private instructor, you also get to work at your own pace. If you're having a hard time understanding Direct Participation Programs (DPPs), you and your SIE teacher can devote as many sessions to working on it as necessary. Alternately, if you have already mastered DDPs, you can skip over this topic completely.
It can be worthwhile to take advantage of both options as well. Whichever option you select, you'll have an excellent resource as you work towards your SIE goals.
What do I need to do to get started in a St. Louis SIE prep class or with a private SIE instructor?
All you need to do to get started is call Varsity Tutors and speak to one of our educational consultants. When you call to sign up for an online class, you'll need to choose between a two-week and four-week class. New sessions begin each month so you can get started when you're ready. If you choose private instruction, we'll take the time to set you up with a tutor who can meet your scheduling requirements. We can have you connected to your teacher within 24 hours. What are you waiting for? If you're ready to get started with excellent St. Louis SIE preparation, call Varsity Tutors today!
