GRE scores are used to supplement your admissions portfolio when applying to a Masters, MBA, or Doctoral program and are accepted by thousands of colleges and universities around the world.
The GRE is a 3 hour and 45-minute exam that assesses your abilities in Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. These are skills you are expected have developed over the course of your entire educational career and should be able to apply to any field of study. The exam is computer-based in most parts of the world but can also be taken on paper. A Richmond GRE class can help you review the skills and abilities necessary to do well on the exam and can provide you with a more thorough review than you might be able to get on your own. Varsity Tutors can set you up with top-notch online Richmond GRE course opportunities to help you put your best foot forward and set yourself apart from the crowd.
What can a Richmond GRE class cover?
The GRE is a comprehensive exam that tests you on the skills and abilities you will need or order to succeed in your higher education courses and programs. Let's take a closer look at the content covered in the three sections.
The Analytical Writing section consists of two separately timed half-hour tasks. You will be expected to showcase your ability to analyze an issue and evaluate an argument. You will need to be able to support your ideas using relevant evidence and be able to evaluate given claims and the provided examples. You will also need to brush up on your ability to articulate your ideas in a coherent and organized manner. This is your opportunity to demonstrate your ability to carry out a well-focused and coherent discussion while controlling your use of standard written English. These are all skills you can practice under knowledgeable supervision when you sign up for a GRE course.
The next section you will face on the GRE is the Verbal Reasoning section. This part of the exam is split into two 30-minute sections, each containing 20 questions. You can expect to find questions that will assess your reading comprehension, text completion, and sentence equivalence skills in this part of the exam. You will need to be able to analyze and critique written material and use the information obtained from the provided passage to answer questions. You will also be required to identify relationships between component parts of sentences to do well on this portion of the exam. A GRE course can help you practice your ability to interpret meaning from the context of the passage and your ability to come to a logical conclusion after analyzing a given passage. You may also want to work on your ability to summarize a passage and identify its strengths and weaknesses.
The final section of the GRE is the Quantitative Reasoning section. This portion of the GRE is split into two 35-minute parts, each consisting of 20 questions. The question types you will find in this section are quantitative comparison, multiple-choice, and numerical entry. This section measures your ability to apply foundational math skills and concepts of algebra, geometry, arithmetic, and data analysis in solving real-world problems. This is your opportunity to showcase your ability to solve problems using mathematical models and to apply your problem-solving skills to solve issues using quantitative methods. You will be provided with a calculator to use for this portion of the GRE.
Whether you are hoping to focus on one specific section of the GRE or you prefer a more comprehensive review, Varsity Tutors can set you up with the right Richmond GRE prep course to help you in reaching for your goals.

...a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering, and am pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the VCU School of Business. I've been a mentor for the past four years and am very active in my method of tutoring. I have helped several students with official tests and homework assignments. My strengths are in Math and Science courses. I am also very proficient in Microsoft Office as well as other computer-related skills.... I believe that the best type of teaching is where the teacher and the student are close in level. What I mean by that is that the student doesn't feel that he/she is so "below the level of the teacher" that it's hard for communication to happen. Because, really, communication is the key in teaching. If the teacher is able to communicate on the level of the student, the student will learn much more.
