Varsity Tutors offers one of the most comprehensive Kansas City CFA prep course products available today. CFA, or Chartered Financial Analyst, is a credential given to financial professionals who hold a bachelor's degree, meet minimum work experience requirements, and successfully pass a sequence of three standardized exams. Meeting all three criteria is tough, and only approximately 150,000 people worldwide hold official CFA designations.
The standardized exams associated with CFA certification are the hardest step for many individuals, but we can help. Each test is numbered (Levels I, II, and III) and must be taken in sequential order. Each exam lasts six hours split into morning and afternoon testing sessions of three hours each. If you would like to learn more about how to approach these challenging exams, contact us today or keep reading to learn more about the benefits of taking a Kansas City CFA class.
What topics are generally covered in a Kansas City CFA course?
Contrary to what you may believe, all three Levels cover the same topics: corporate finance, portfolio management, economics, ethics, etc. The difference is that each test goes into more detail than the last and adopts a slightly different structure. For example, the Level I exam consists entirely of multiple-choice questions (240 to be precise). If you're ever unsure of an answer, your teacher can show you how to rule out obviously incorrect answer choices so that you can take an educated guess. There's no penalty for guessing on the CFA Exam, so it behooves you to try to answer every question.
The Level II Exam is similar to Level I, except that you only have to answer half of the questions (120) in the same time frame. The wrinkle is that every item is associated with a vignette: either a reading passage or graph that you'll need to consult in order to determine the answer. If you're not confident in your information retention skills, your teacher can demonstrate active reading techniques to help you remember more of the data presented to you. For example, you are permitted to mark up your test booklet as much as you like, so taking notes as you go along may prove beneficial.
While the afternoon session of the Level III test is similar to Level II, the morning session is comprised entirely of constructed response items. Your teacher may show you how to sketch out a quick outline to make it easier to organize your thoughts and commit them to the page.
What are the benefits of enrolling in a Kansas City CFA course?
Every Kansas City CFA class we provide involves a group of students meeting their instructor digitally over our exclusive Live Learning Platform. Varsity Tutors thoroughly vets every instructor, so you can count on receiving guidance from a skilled communicator who understands how to share their CFA knowledge with students. Our platform also supports video chat, so asking for help is as it would be in a more traditional learning environment.
Our Live Learning Platform also works on mobile devices, allowing you to study wherever would be most convenient for you. Most students choose to study at home to guarantee a distraction-free experience, but you can also take out your tablet at your favorite restaurant or even a local college such as Rockhurst College or the University of Missouri - Kansas City if you want. You don't need to worry about study efficiency either, as powerful features such as a virtual whiteboard give you an experience comparable to a physical classroom.
You can also see and hear your classmates on our proprietary platform, allowing you to work together as you pursue academic success. For instance, if you have a better grasp of derivatives than one of your classmates, you can help them with the concept while your teacher is working with somebody else. Similarly, another student's memorization trick for how to report financial transactions may prove beneficial for you as well. It may seem counterintuitive, but this collaborative learning environment can make it easier to learn challenging concepts.
We also try to make attending a course as flexible as possible. You can arrange private study sessions with your instructor on an as-needed basis, giving you access to personalized extra help. We also offer multiple course sessions simultaneously, including two and four-week courses to make it easier to find a fit for your busy itinerary.

I enjoy helping students learn material in a way they can remember and apply in future coursework.... Perseverance trumps brilliance every time. Ask questions and work hard, and there's nothing you won't be able to understand.... I would begin by asking a few questions to see where a student is. I would then provide a useful note sheet and go over a refresher of some of the concepts we would be focusing on.
