This was a good session. The student completed her unfinished homework assignments. She worked with polynomial long division and simplification and polynomial division, multiplication, and addition. We then reviewed polynomial simplification techniques. To avoid errors or unsimplified answers, we continuously asked ourselves questions such as: Can a constant or expression be divided into these terms? Can we reduce by multiplying by 1(i.e. a/a, 4/4,(x+2)/(x+2))? If our problem is an equation (containing an equal sign), can we evenly divide all of its terms by some constant or expression? The student again seemed to work well independently with few errors.
