Tutoring review by Jana in Southbank, FL
We reviewed parallel and perpendicular line equations. We did practice problems of how to find a line that is perpendicular or parallel to another given line, also when given a designated point that the parallel or perpendicular line passes through. We also discussed inequalities and how to graph them. I explained that I would gather more practice problems on inequalities for us to review next time and encouraged her to email me any topics she had specific difficulty with between now and next week before our session so I can gather more practice problems in that area as well if she comes across any difficult problems in class.

We covered word problems involving variance with squares, and reviewed inequality graphing and rationalizing the denominator. The student is still having trouble with graphing linear equations, and is still guessing too much, although there was a marked improvement this session. We can go through his book to help him use the book on his own time rather than guessing.

As this is the first day we covered math, we started with a diagnostic test for the math section. The student did very well, and we went through the couple of problems he missed. We then went over percentage problems and probability questions. He had a great attitude and picked things up very quickly.
