I have passionately pursued the application of sciences and math over my 25+ year career. I am a firm believer in promoting professional development and learning in all those around you, and being prepared to learn at the same time. Many of my examples will draw on my history in aquariums, water quality and water purification and relate to environmental stewardship and conservation biology.

I am a high school biology teacher with a background in science and a Masters in cognitive psychology. I have been tutoring and teaching since I was in high school myself, and deeply enjoy the challenge of figuring out exactly how to help each of my students!

As an educator, I believe all our children, are all our children. Every child should and can have the opportunity to learn. I enjoy teaching in a differentiated style while layering and scaffolding the concepts being taught. I also believe in teaching to three senses so that learning can be retained. As an educator and person, I believe we should speak the language of respect, and provide a safe atmosphere where true learning can happen.
