The student and I began the session by working on the Pythagorean theorem for about 35 minutes. I had emailed her teacher earlier to find out what she is working on in class. She did well with this concept after completing 15 practice problems using the theorem. We talked about the different parts of the triangle and how to solve for area using the theorem. After working on this, we began to discuss her social studies class and what they are working on in her class. We went over the beginnings of Congress and how the different aspects of what was going on relates to the beginning of our nation. For the next session, I would like to work on writing more.
