Before you take the GRE, you should contact Varsity Tutors and ask them to assist you in finding a Cleveland GRE course to help you in your preparations for the exam. The GRE is a test many college level students will have to take as it is a requirement at universities that offer MBAs and advanced degree programs. Schools like Case Western Reserve University School of Graduate Studies may require you complete the GRE before you are admitted into one of their programs of study. The GRE is a significant landmark in your educational career. You want to be fully prepared and perform your best at test time.
The GRE has three different sections: Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning. The Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning sections will have two parts with twenty questions per part. As you take the GRE, each section has a set time and number of questions or tasks that are specifically tailored to each category. Your time management skills should be used strategically because you do not want to spend a more extended time on a specific question if you have to complete several more within the time allotment. Now let's explain the GRE in further detail.
Are the materials in the Cleveland GRE class similar to the materials that are on the GRE?
The material is the same. The actual question will differ; however, the subjects that you will be reviewing are the same. The GRE is administered in over 160 countries and accepted by colleges and universities worldwide. The computer-based test lasts about three hours and forty-five minutes. Now we will review the materials and your skills that will be assessed in each section of the GRE.
First, we'll review what is included in the Quantitative Reasoning section of the GRE. This section focuses on math and science related questions. You will have one hour and ten minutes to complete this portion of the GRE. Some of the question types include multiple-choice, numeric entry, and quantitative comparison.
The areas of content in the Quantitative Reasoning section of the exam include geometry, algebra, data analysis, and arithmetic. You must reflect an understanding of math concepts and your abilities to use your logic for problem-solving using quantitative methods. The Cleveland GRE class will provide you with an in-depth review of what you should expect when you arrive at the Quantitative Reasoning section of the GRE.
The second section on the test we will discuss is Analytical Writing. You will be asked to respond to two different tasks in writing. You are given thirty minutes to respond to each task, with the total test time for this section being one hour. Ideally, you want to have time to plan, write, and review your responses for errors and clarification before your submission, so you will need to have good use of your time management skills.
You will be expected to be able to articulate complex concepts effectively and support your response with enough valid data and significant reasoning. As you support your written argument, you must showcase your knowledge and understanding of the necessary command of English by keeping the focus on the subject through a coherent discussion. You may want to sharpen your quick outline skills to help you navigate the Analytical Writing section of the GRE.
The final section we will review is Verbal Reasoning. You will be given one hour to respond to all questions in this section of the test. The Verbal Reasoning section uses three different question types: reading comprehension, test completion, and sentence equivalence. You could be asked to fill in blank parts of passages and to read passages that are given to you and be able to answer questions directly related to each text. There are approximately ten texts that are included in Verbal Reasoning accompanied by one to six questions per passage that you have to answer.
You will have to summarize passages, evaluate passages, interpret meanings within written works, and identify the strengths and weaknesses of a position. You need to have the ability to use multiple parts of writings to provide reason about the whole text as well as understand the meaning of individual words. Some of the questions in Verbal Reasoning might ask you to reach a conclusion when you are only given partial information.

I am a chemical and environmental engineer of long experience who has a knack for explaining science and math concepts in ways that students can understand, helping them to get the concepts. I also help students with their homework in all those areas. While my strong suit is math and science, I can also help explain concepts in English, writing, history, and social studies, as well as edit/proofread papers as needed.... While I am not expert in reading comprehension help, I would try to have the students outline the passage and perhaps draw a picture of what is being discussed. If they can break the passage down by what the sentences are discussing, they can then try to put everything together for a good result.
