Hello! My name is Matt and I specialize in teaching middle to high school English reading comprehension and formal writing skills. I recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a double major in political science and history and a minor in philosophy. My time reading dense texts and then interpreting them to write complex papers has specially prepared me to teach on these topics.

I'm an active and devoted learner of many things -- including (but not limited to!) languages, classical piano, history, literature, design, film, television, fashion, and art. In honing these interests, I've developed effective strategies for taking on new subjects while still maintaining my love of learning. With tutoring, I hope to teach students my most effective study tips, with the goal of not just academic progress, but of lifelong learning engagement.
