Hi! My name is Beck Jacobsen (they/them). I am a graduate of Wesleyan University (BA in Chemistry, Molecular Biology & Biochemistry) and the University of Virginia School of Medicine (MD). I completed 1.5 years of family medicine residency training before deciding to leave residency to become a high school science teacher.

Throughout college and medical school, I tutored a variety of subjects, including chemistry, biochemistry, sociology, anatomy, and physiology. I have experience with MCAT prep through Varsity Tutors and love the opportunity to work with each of my students. I often work with students who feel stuck below the 500 score mark. We work together to identify content areas to focus on and go over study and test-taking strategies. I love watching students' confidence grow as they sharpen their testing skills and realize their full potential.
