I am a recent grad student with over 100 hours of credits in various psychology subjects including:
History of Psychology
Cognitive Psychology
Abnormal Psychology
Neuroscience
Child and Adolescent Psychology
Personality Development
Research Methods
Human Behavior and the Environment
I have also taken Statistics and Survey of Mathematics.
I am starting my Master of Science in Psychology in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA); my long-term goal is to become a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I would also love to work for a school district as an Early Intervention Specialist while working on my Master's (M.Sc.). I am 31 years old, and I work well with all age groups. I have 4 children (ages 3, 6, 7, and 10) and am well-versed in identifying different learning modalities and specific needs for most children, adolescents, and young adults. I am passionate about advocating for inclusive and diverse learning environments that allow for a variety of instructional formats. I strive to help break down information in as many steps as needed and keep learning fun and enjoyable. I am passionate about helping students reach their learning goals, prepare for the future, and succeed in academia. I love learning and teaching what I have learned; I feel that teaching is a fun method of learning, in its own way. Currently, my skillset is theory-based, but I would love to put them into practice through tutoring! My goal is to build a safe and professional learning environment that encourages a love of learning and self-motivation through inquiry-based instruction. I believe inquiry-based instruction (student-centered) is necessary regarding one-on-one and small group instruction to enhance comprehension, allow for exploration, and apply concepts to build understanding.
